My name is Peter Wright, and I’m a multi-instrumentalist, producer and composer based in the UK. I have been playing the trumpet for more than 25 years, and the saxophone for more than 15 years. With lots of experience in production, and having been making recordings for most of my life, in 2020 I decided to start offering my skills in recording horn sections (something I’ve been doing on my own recordings for years), and so I started BLOWN AWAY.
I also play piano/keyboards (I have a diploma in classical piano), bass guitar (including fretless), guitar (electric and acoustic), flute, clarinet and chromatic harmonica, and I am also able to record these for my clients. I play soprano, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones. I have much experience in many forms of popular music and jazz—particularly funk, soul and R&B.
In addition to BLOWN AWAY, I also run and front Police & Sting tribute bands The Police Academy & The Sting Operation, I teach piano and saxophone and I offer my services as a wedding pianist.
